... I wish I was in Minnesota, because then there'd be people I knew to hang out with and I wouldn't have to make an effort to get to know people.

I know the feeling. Luckily, I've been so damn busy running errands, getting lab shit set up, feeding, and sleeping that I've barely had time to miss everyone yet (though I have) or make an effort to meet new folk.

my lease ran out on September 1 and I'm leaving for Costa Rica right after Thanksgiving, so my parents offered to let me live with them rent-free for a couple months. couldn't afford to turn them down.

Yessss. Cross-country Adventure! Next time we do something like that, though, we should not be doing "Headlong Flight Across The Country Cross-Country Adventure". So we can stop in places like... not Kansas. Or go north in Wyoming. Or in Idaho. Or south in Utah.
